The Best Minecraft 1.18.2 Java Seeds
1. Amazing Badlands Spawn
Imagine the most colorful biome in Minecraft — rare, warm, and visually striking. That's the Badlands, and starting in one already makes this seed special. The 1.18 terrain changes make it even better, giving you dramatic mountains and rolling Badlands hills right from the start, with some desert hills scattered in between. This is one of the largest Badlands biomes you'll find.
Near spawn is a Ruined Portal that needs a little work to activate. Once it's running, it drops you in a Nether spawn close to a Bastion Remnant, a Nether Fortress, and a Crimson Forest — all within reach of the portal. One of the best all-round seeds on this list.
- Seed Code: -78688046
- Biome: Badlands
- Ruined Portal: X: 88, Y: 110, Z: 24
2. Flower-Filled Village on a Snowy Mountain
You start in a beautiful meadow that looks like something from a film. Walk a short distance and you'll find a village built right into a snowy mountain, spread across the hills with farmers trying their best to grow crops on frozen soil. Flowers are scattered all around, making it one of the most scenic villages you'll come across. There's even a Ruined Portal nearby if you need more reason to visit.

According to Minecraft lore, Illagers are villagers who were cast out. This seed makes it look like they're planning payback. You spawn near a Taiga village flanked by a Woodland Mansion on one side and a swamp with a Witch's Hut on the other. A Pillager Outpost lurks behind the village too. For villagers, this is a nightmare — for players, it's a loot paradise, provided you can handle the fights.

4. Glacier Shipwreck and Open Underwater Cave
This seed is a showcase of what 1.18 world generation can produce. A shipwreck with visible chests sits lodged in a glacier, surrounded by ice spikes and a frozen ocean. Nearby, a massive cave opening leads down into a sprawling underwater cave system loaded with ores. The shipwreck's buried treasure map points to even more loot, and there's a Ruined Portal right at spawn to get you moving quickly.
- Seed Code: -4321830091833432115
- Biomes: Dark Forest and Beach
- Shipwreck: X: 1987, Y: 63, Z: -2064

Step onto the small island near spawn and you'll get the full view: a towering mountain range with multiple cave openings carved into its face. There's also a shipwreck nearby as a bonus for early loot.

- Shipwreck: X: -72, Y: 69, Z: -584
6. Glaciers at Spawn and a Glitched Shipwreck
This seed uses a text string instead of a number — enter it exactly as shown. You spawn surrounded by frozen ocean, glaciers, and cold biomes in every direction, with a snowy taiga forest nearby for basic supplies. The main attraction is a glitched shipwreck close to spawn: most of the hull is buried under the frozen ocean, with parts frozen into a nearby glacier. You'll need to break through a lot of ice to access all three chests, but the buried treasure map inside makes it well worth it.
- Seed Code: glacier
- Biomes: Frozen Ocean, Snowy Taiga, Snowy Plains
- Glitched Shipwreck: X: 287, Y: 63, Z: -173
7. Pillager Outpost Trapped in a Ravine
Pillager Outposts are a serious threat for newer players, but this seed tips the scales in your favor. The outpost spawns inside a narrow ravine, hemming the Pillagers in and making them easy to pick off with arrows, fire, or lava from above. The ravine itself is packed with cave openings worth exploring, and one leads directly to diamonds and Redstone.
- Seed Code: 4744115001684867391
- Biome: Plains
- Pillager Outpost: X: 36, Y: 66, Z: -7338
8. Woodland Mansion Built Into a Snowy Mountain
Mountain resorts aren't something you'd typically associate with Minecraft, but the residents of this Woodland Mansion seem unbothered by the cold. The mansion is embedded directly into the side of a snowy mountain, with snow creeping inside through the walls and covering the roof. The loot and mob spawns are standard, but the elevated location makes the whole encounter more dramatic and challenging.
- Seed Code: 136502789
- Biome: Jagged Peaks
- Woodland Mansion: X: 95, Y: 127, Z: 707
9. Himalayan Mountain Range
If you love mountains, this seed delivers in a big way. A towering central peak is surrounded by smaller hills, with snow capping the top and forests and plains spreading out at the base. Rivers flow down from the mountains, giving the whole scene a realistic, cinematic look. It's not right at spawn, but it's worth the journey. There's a Ruined Portal near the mountain range, and a Grove biome near spawn if you want a taste of the snowy terrain before you get there.
- Seed Code: -1465919862
- Biomes: Plains and Stony Shore
- Ruined Portal Near Mountain: X: -621, Y: 125, Z: -1538
- Grove Biome Near Spawn: X: -167, Y: 77, Z: -183
10. Largest Exposed Dripstone Cave
Since dripstone caves were introduced, most of them stay hidden underground. This seed is the exception. At the coordinates below, you'll find one of the biggest dripstone caves in the game sitting right on the surface, completely open to the sky. The stalactites and stalagmites are fully visible, giving you a rare look at the cave generation that's usually buried deep below. A great seed for appreciating how far Minecraft's world building has come.
- Seed Code: -1895276179
- Biomes: Forest and Plains
- Cave Opening: X: -31, Y: 73, Z: 749
11. Savanna Village Next to an Ocean Monument
This is a strong survival start. You spawn on an island with a Savanna village that has melon and wheat farms and an iron golem for easy iron. After looting the village, find the nearby shipwreck for extra supplies. A short distance from the shipwreck sits an Ocean Monument right next to an underwater ravine — dangerous early on, but incredibly rewarding once you're geared up.
- Seed Code: 8795613549813
- Biomes: Beach and Savanna
- Ocean Monument: X: -247, Y: 61, Z: -479

- Shipwreck: X: -147, Y: 53, Z: -561
12. Desert Village with a Floating Ruined Portal
You spawn in one of the largest Badlands biomes you'll find, with a desert village sitting at the edge of the badlands rather than deep in the desert — complete with a weaponsmith to help you gear up. There's a standard Ruined Portal nearby, but the real highlight is further out: a Ruined Portal floating on the surface of the ocean. Ruined Portals are almost always found underwater or on land, making this a genuinely rare find.
- Seed Code: 66548779546641
- Biomes: Badlands and Desert
- Floating Ruined Portal: X: -380, Y: 63, Z: 154
- Desert Village: X: -295, Y: 67, Z: -195
13. Two Ocean Monuments and a Giant Ruined Portal
This seed uses a text string — enter it exactly as shown. You start near a Ruined Portal with a chest for early loot. The main attraction is thousands of blocks away: a frozen ocean with glaciers and ice spikes hiding two Ocean Monuments close together. One is surrounded by glaciers, the other by Amethyst Geodes — a stunning combination. Nearby is also a giant Ruined Portal next to a Cold Ruin with a buried treasure map.
- Seed Code: 420
- Biomes: Plains and Forest
- Ruined Portal at Spawn: X: 62, Y: 65, Z: 69

- Second Ocean Monument: X: 4234, Y: 65, Z: 856
14. Desert Temple and Village Hidden in the Badlands
The world looks barren at first — nothing but desert and badlands for hundreds of blocks. Keep going. You'll find a desert village next to a desert temple, mostly buried in sand and easy to miss. The village has plenty of villagers including a blacksmith, and the Ruined Portal nearby is nearly complete despite looking small under all the sand.
- Seed Code: -1112456
- Biomes: Desert and Badlands
- Desert Village: X: 62, Y: 65, Z: 69
- Desert Temple: X: 196, Y: 80, Z: 200
- Ruined Portal: X: 190, Y: 96, Z: 145
15. Pillager Outpost at Spawn with Dripstone Caves Nearby
This seed throws you straight into danger — a Pillager Outpost is right at spawn. The Pillagers won't spot you immediately, so use that window to run. There's a village about 400 blocks away, though another Pillager Outpost sits in that direction too. The payoff for surviving is excellent: a flower forest, a beehive, and a stunning meadow contrast sharply with the danger at spawn. Almost every cave in the area leads into a massive dripstone cave system, and a snowy mountain surrounded by flowering meadow sits on the opposite side of the outpost.
- Seed Code: 884288
- Biomes: Meadow, Plains, Mountains
- Pillager Outpost: X: 22, Y: 92, Z: -11
- Dripstone Cave Entrance: X: 11, Y: 45, Z: -76
- Nearest Village: X: 8, Y: 70, Z: -472
16. Three Villages and Two Desert Temples
Within 1000 blocks of spawn you'll find three villages, two desert temples, caves, and a Ruined Portal — one of the most resource-dense starts on this list. The closest village has a blacksmith, so you're well-equipped from the start. If you're speedrunning, a third village has a Ruined Portal to kick off your Nether run. Note that the second desert temple is submerged underwater.
- Seed Code: 69069594
- Biome: Desert
- Ruined Portal: X: 310, Y: 57, Z: 141

- Underwater Desert Temple: X: 210, Y: 66, Z: 264
17. Two Large Snowy Villages with Great Loot
Cold biomes greet you in every direction, but two large villages flank you on either side of spawn — one with a blacksmith, the other with a cartographer. After looting both, there's an underwater Ruined Portal nearby that needs lava to activate, so you'll need to search the area for some. If you're not playing survival, this seed is an excellent canvas for building a snowy base.
- Seed Code: 4887167405268088711
- Biomes: Frozen Ocean and Snowy Plains
- Ruined Portal: X: 171, Y: 51, Z: 101

- Second Village: X: -142, Y: 64, Z: 132
18. Massive Swamp with Three Witch Huts
Swamps are already one of the rarer spawn biomes, but this seed gives you one of the largest swamps in the game — big enough to contain three Witch Huts and four Ruined Portals. Unfortunately, you spawn right next to one of the huts with the witch already watching through the window. Run immediately. Once you're safe, the real adventure begins: craft a boat, navigate to a nearby Mushroom Island sitting over an underwater ravine connected to a massive mineshaft, with shipwrecks and Cold Ruins on both sides and an Ocean Monument just a short distance away.
