
- Car blast near Delhi's Red Fort, 24 injured
Delhi was rocked by a terrifying sound as a car exploded near the Red Fort at 6.55 pm today. The blast was so powerful that it caused widespread panic. According to eyewitnesses, the car turned into a ball of fire in an instant and the flames engulfed seven or eight nearby vehicles. The blast killed eight people and injured 24. The death toll may rise.
The explosion took place at 6.55 pm and the fire brigade was immediately informed. Firefighters reached the spot and after a lot of effort brought the fire under control. After the explosion, Delhi Police teams reached the spot and started an investigation.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that this is not an ordinary blast. Delhi Police suspects that explosives were used in this blast. Police have detained two suspects in this case and they are currently being questioned.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has obtained details from Home Minister Amisha in this matter. Home Minister Amit Saheb has ordered the agencies to investigate.
Security agencies in Uttar Pradesh have been put on high alert after a blast near Gate No. 1 of Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station.
ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash said that the DGP has issued instructions to all senior officers to enhance security in sensitive religious places, districts and border areas across the state.
He said that all security agencies have been alerted and police in all districts of the state have been instructed to be vigilant. Orders have been issued from the Lucknow headquarters to increase patrolling and checking in sensitive areas. Police have been instructed to keep a watch on all suspicious movements and tighten surveillance in border areas.
According to locals, the explosion was so powerful that it shook the surrounding walls and windows. A local resident said, “When we saw someone’s hand lying on the road, we were completely stunned. The sight was beyond words. We all panicked and started running around.”
